In arguably the evening's tightest race, Nicole Scherzinger came out victorious and won this year's Best Leading Actress in a Musical Tony Award at the June 8 ceremony at Radio City Music Hall, winning for her work as Norma Desmond in Sunset Blvd. The win replicates Scherzinger's success at the 2024 Olivier Awards, which honored the former Pussycat Doll with Best Actress for the revival's London bow.

"Growing up, I always felt like I didn't belong, but you all have made me feel like I belong, and I have come home at last," said an emotional Scherzinger while accepting the award. "So if there's anyone out there who feels like they don't belong or your time hasn't come, don't give up. Just keep on giving and giving, because the world needs your love and your life now more than ever. This is a testament that love always wins."
The Jamie Lloyd-directed revival opened at the St. James Theatre last year, with its multi-extended run set to continue through July 20. The hit minimalist production stars newly minted Tony winner Scherzinger as ill-fated former silent screen star Norma Desmond, a role that has also won the actor an Olivier, the Drama League Award for Distinguished Performance, and a Theater World Award.
Scherzinger is joined by 2025 Tony nominee and Olivier winner Tom Francis as Joe Gillis, 2024 Olivier nominee Grace Hodgett Young as Betty Schaefer, and Olivier winner and 2024 Olivier nominee David Thaxton as Max Von Mayerling. As previously announced, Tony nominee Jordan Donica will assume the role of Max beginning June 10.
