Tony-winning The Producers star Cady Huffman will be part of readings of the new musical For Love or Funny May 19 at 2 and 6 PM in the Bruno Walter Auditorium at Lincoln Center.
Directed by Ashley Rodbro with music direction by Katie Coleman, the readings will also feature Stanley Bahorek (Company), Ally Bonino (Suffs), Lindsay Nicole Chambers (Lysistrata Jones), Richard Ruiz Henry (Hunchback of Notre Dame), Megan Loughran (Falsettos tour), Ellie MacPherson (The Play That Goes Wrong), and Tiffany Mann (Be More Chill).
For
Love or Funny has lyrics by Megan Loughran, music by Sonya Hayden, and a book by both.
The musical comedy reimagines the Three Stooges as a trio of sisters: Mo, Mary, and
Curly, played by Chambers, Bonino, and Mann, respectively. In a slapstick version of 1930s Brooklyn, the sisters’ family-owned clothing
store is about to close—unless they can somehow get a whopping $500 by the following day.
Capacity is full for the upcoming readings, part of the Across a Crowded Room Fellowship presentation series
at the Library for the Performing Arts.
For Love or Funny is produced through ProducerHub.
